What is performance psychology?
Performance psychology is concerned with understanding the “mental game”. It is about human performance and building the necessary mental skills and techniques necessary to perform consistently and effectively regardless of the situation. Performance psychology is a discipline that investigates and seeks to understand the factors that are involved in reaching and consistently maintaining optimal performance – to strive to achieve one’s best.
How can performance psychology help me and my business?
To help with understanding the role performance psychology plays, it can be helpful to ask yourself this question: “Are you performing at your very best and is there no room for improvement?” No one will ever answer this question affirmatively, most people will say there is a gap between how they are performing and how they are capable of performing. Performance psychology aims to create knowledge that will help close the gap between people’s current level of performance and what they are capable of doing.
Why is performance psychology and mental training important?

Performance psychology comes from the same principles as sport psychology, a discipline the world’s best athletes use to train their minds to be able to perform under pressure. Our executive coaching and development programs takes a similar approach to those we have developed and implemented to train the best athletes of today and tomorrow. The programs are designed to help you progress in your career and improve your performance.

Everyone in business is looking for an edge, but most spend their time on things that give little return. To get to that next level in your performance it is necessary to turn within and understand your own mind. Knowing yourself is the key to success, from there then it is all about finding the right approach for you and the best way to implement things.
