The importance of motivation within your sports performance

Sports performance and motivation are highly correlated to one another. In order for an athlete to perform up to their potential and do the necessary work day in and day out, they must find ample motivation to keep themselves going. Many people have tools that they rely on to get themselves up for pushing themselves to their limits. For me I have always liked videos with motivational speeches to get me focused, motivated as well as increase my confidence.

Pushing yourself day in and day out requires help, you are going to feel down, hopeless, like you want to give up from time to time. The world is hard, and it will push you around and knock you down from time to time, and in order to push back we often need some form of external help to tap into our own internal motivation and drive.

Here is a list of things you can use to help with motivation:

  4. Inspiring stories
  5. Books

All of these things are things that you can turn to when the going gets tough that will help you not only survive but thrive as you aim towards your goals and dreams. Get creative the list above is not all that can help with motivation. It is simply a starting point, so create your own list and find the right mix of things that will work for you.
